SUMMER DAY CAMPS
TURTLETACULAR
Thursday, July 25th 9am-4pm (ages 6-11) Kinder Farm Park
This camp is for the serious turtle lovers! Help biologists find Painted, Snapping and Box turtles and help collect data by tagging, weighing, and measuring animals. See the difference first hand between aquatic and terrestrial turtles. Learn about threats to all turtles including our very own Diamondback terrapins and sea turtles. Help make a difference by writing a letter to a politician to help save terrapins. Create turtle art. Then get ready, set, ...Go! Who will win in a turtle race... It’s everything you need to know...so to speak...about those critters with a shell and a beak!
CAMERA CRAZY!
Thursday, June 27th 9am-4pm (ages 8-14) Kinder Farm Park
Get your cameras ready and get out in nature to take pictures of the beauty of our natural Planet. Catch, photograph, and learn about animals in our backyards. Capture on film the 8 eyes of a tarantula through your lens...the colors of a Chameleon, the chain linked pattern of a snake’s skin... Then print and design your own scrapbook creation to take home as a souvenir. Note: Must bring your own digital camera. Price includes: scrapbook and photo supplies.
Animal Cribs
Friday, August 2nd 9am-4pm (ages 5-11) Severna Park Com Ctr.
Ever wonder where a snake lives, what a lizard does for fun, or maybe what a turtle likes for a special treat? Join us to explore the homes and likes of several amazing animals. Help build hideouts and enrichment toys for our animals and test them out on our animal friends. Then construct a home or a feeder for the animals that live in your own backyard.
Item Special Note
- The camp runs from 9am-4pm.
