Item Description
Two of you will ride round trip in coach seats onboard Amtrak's Southwest Chief from Albuquerque to Kansas City. Southwest Chief runs daily between Chicago and Los Angeles, through the vast expanse of the fabled American West. You'll be mesmerized by this region's beauty and allure. We'll take you across the Midwest—past wheat fields and ranches. Carving through curving canyon passages only a few feet wider than the train itself, you'll see spectacular landscapes and pristine vistas not visible from interstate highways.
Kansas City offers a wealth of attractions. The striking landscape includes wide boulevards, beautiful parks, fantastic architecture and more than 200 fountains. The city's diversions include world-class museums, a vibrant arts scene, superb shopping and great blues and jazz clubs. Consider this your quick primer to everything that is unique to this Heartland metropolis.
Spend two nights at the Westin Kansas City at Crown Center. It is located less than a mile from the Amtrak station, in the heart of downtown and encompassed by Hallmark's Crown Center. Known as a city within a city, Crown Center offers 85 acres of shops, restaurants, and theatres all at the hotel's front steps. As a guest, you'll enjoy Midwestern hospitality and a long list of amenities including; a whirlpool, sauna, steam room, outdoor heated swimming pool, and track, as well as tennis courts. Each night escape and unwind by leaving behind the day's concerns and experiencing a Westin evening ritual filled with regional food at the Brasserie Bar.

Answers to some frequently asked questions about riding Amtrak:
- Everyone who travels on the train pays the coach rail fare. If one elects to ride in a sleeper compartment, the upgrade charge is the cost of the compartment. In this case, your coach rail fare is covered by the travel certificate. Therefore, the cost of the Roomette compartment is the upgrade cost to ride in a sleeper room.
- The winner can pay for the private compartment if he/she wishes to ride in a sleeper room. The cost is not a flat upgrade charge. The actual price is known at the time of reservations. For round-trip, the price for a Roomette can be one rate going and a different rate on the return. Visit the link for information on the Roomette accommodation. http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?c=AM_Accommodation_C&pagename=am%2FLayout&cid=1241210576173
- The winner may use Albuquerque as the destination.
