Item Description
North House instructor and master carver Harley Refsal is offering a private, one-day tutorial in carving figures utilizing the Scandinavian flat-plane style. Harley is the author of Art of Scandinavian-Style Woodcarving and is a professor of Norwegian language and Scandinavian folk art at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. This one-day experience will give the high bidder the opportunity to learn all aspects of flat-plane carving, from choice and sharpening of carving tools to carving techniques, to applying an oil finish to carved figures. The tutorial is a unique opportunity to work one-on-one with an award-winning carver and Scandinavian folk art expert.
