Item Description
Clearwater Lodge, the only resort on Clearwater Lake up the Gunflint Trail from Grand Marais, MN, was built in 1926 by pioneer Charlie Boostrom and is the oldest original whole-log structure in Northeast Minnesota. On the National Register of Historic Places, it has retained the look and feel of earlier times. The lounge area has a large stone fireplace surrounded by one of the finest collections of diamond willow furniture on the Gunflint Trail. The wide veranda porch enjoys a view of the majestic Palisades. As the name depicts, Clearwater is an exceptionally clear lake that is home to lake trout, smallmouth bass, loons, otters, turtles, eagles, osprey and abundant wildlife.
Whether you like to hike, fish, canoe, or just explore, you will not run out of things to do during your stay at Clearwater Historic Lodge.
