Item Description
A gift from the Bolivian Andes. 4 packages (16 oz) of organic and fair trade Quinoa:
(2) Red Royal Quinoa® (1lb Retail Box), (2) Tricolor Royal Quinoa® (1lb retail box)
Royal Quinoa is native only to an area in Bolivia, South America, that is nourished by the Andes and the mystical salt flats known as Salar de Uyuni. These majestic flats boast a unique combination of sun and altitude that supplies this demanding plant with the vitamins and minerals it needs to flourish.
Red Royal Quinoa, rare even in Bolivia, was once thought lost forever. Recently rediscovered, this robust, nutty-flavored grain- rich in antioxidants- now nourishes people around the world.
For close to 5,000 years, Tricolor Royal Quinoa growers in these salt flats have employed planting practices that preserve native biodiversity. This natural diversity has resulted in heirloom seeds that produce dozens of varieties of quinoa in three vibrant colors- red, black, and gold.
