Item Description

Regardless of how many times you have hiked, camped, hunted, fished or merely gone exploring in the woods there is always a chance you will become lost, disoriented or caught in bad weather. If you should have to encounter a night, or maybe a few nights braving the wild, don't panic, we’ve have a package to help you stay safe!

Invite up to six friends to join you in the Philip Burton Wilderness at Point Reyes National Seashore for six hours of private instruction on how to survive in the wild or just in your own backyard with wilderness educator Jason Flesher. Jason's explorations have brought him to the top of 23,000 foot peaks and to labyrinths 1,500 feet beneath the surface of the earth and has been featured in The New York Times, Readers Digest, Outfitter, Climbing and the National Speleological Society magazines. With over 30 years of experience leading diverse groups in over 15 countries in the art of backpacking, the lost art of primitive living skills, and wilderness safety, Jason can easily tailor a special program for you and your guests based on your group’s current skills and abilities. He will cover the basics skills anyone should know when exploring the Great Outdoors, including: the ten essential systems and items you need to know to stay safe and ideally to be found, as well as how to navigate by map and compass, how to find and clean water, make a fire, build a shelter and more.

Point Reyes National Seashore Association and our friends at REI and Map Adventures will also outfit each your guests with some important gear to keep in any backpack, including:

A 27-ounce Klean Kanteen Point Reyes Trails Challenge water bottle to help keep you hydrated on the trail from Point Reyes National Seashore Association.

A waterproof Point Reyes map to help you navigate and plan your adventures in the park from Map Adventures.

A Daypack First Aid Kit: a nylon zippered case with essential medical supplies for the trail from REI.
