The Vermont Wildflower Farm, established in 1981 is not only a working farm but a hands-on kind of company! We are family owned and operated. We are more than just an online company as we have an actual farm, retail operation and public gardens. We do not affiliate, partner with or sell in conjunction with any other online seed company. There is only one Vermont Wildflower Farm.
OUR SEED AND OTHER PRODUCTS:
We are one of the largest seed companies in the U.S offering our products both in our retail location and through our yearly catalog and website. We only offer exclusive hand packed proven mixtures and premium wildflower seed for over 180 individual wild perennial and annual flowers. We are actually the largest wildflower seed center in the Northeast. Whether you wish to plant a patch of black-eyed susan's or a whole acre of a wildflower mixture, we are always available to help! Our wildflower mixtures have been designed and refined based on working with hundreds of thousands of customers for over 30 years, both expert and beginning gardeners. Our seed comes from within the United States with warehouses across the country. Our flower Bulbs, both spring and fall, are premium, high quality product imported directly from the most respected grower in Holland. Perennials, Berries, Ornamental Grasses, Bare roots, Rhizomes etc. come from a partnership we have launched with a U.S perennial grower in business for decades known for their outstanding quality. We have a strong commitment to providing you only the most healthy and vigorous plant stock. We will only be offering superior quality plants and bareroots including items from the Proven Winners ® line along with a huge selection of other award winning varieties. Our premium stock is grown mostly in the United States and guaranteed for health and size. OUR WILDFLOWER GARDENS AND RETAIL SHOP:
Our Retail Seed Shop combines both Wildflower Seed and Gifts. In Spring and Fall we also offer bulbs and perennial plants. Our gift shop is brimming with wonderful lines of decorative, nature and garden based gifts. We also carry garden and patio decor and Vermont Products! Our Retail Location is open from early May - early October from 10am - 5 pm (for dates see 'contact us'). Our gardens and woodlands are open to the public from May through early October each year from 10am - 4:30pm. The paths are marked with signage that corresponds with the garden guide handout. Large signs are numerically coded to correspond with the guide and then there are other signs throughout the tour that offer written information such as Annuals, Our Main Field, This area in Spring, Edible and Poisonous plants etc. Smaller signs throughout the paths offer interesting folklore about popular wildflowers, their history and fun facts. We also offer signs that tells what kind of trees, ferns, and wildlife inhabits our property. The path is a graveled ¼ mile loop path through open fields and woodlands with a running brook and a pond. You can also enjoy our fenced patio - bring your own picnic, drinks available on site. The tour takes about 15-20 minutes. Some people do it in that time and others stay for hours. At the farm itself is where we gather seed from our rare and woodland wildflowers. We have over 354 species on our property. What you see depends on the time of year you visit! We expect you to take your time and enjoy everything!
