Why count sheep when you could count geckos, butterflies, sharks, and penguins? Point Reyes National Seashore Association is happy to partner with the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, California to present Penguins + Pajamas Sleepover for two*. This museum sleepover adventure presents a unique way to explore our amazing world all under one roof and with less people! Whether you are a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle -- who would like to invite a special child in your life, or you are just a grown-up who wants to have fun, this experience is sure to create some fun memories for all involved. All sleepover adventures begin at 6:00 pm and end at 8:00 am the following day. Participants receive general admission the next day during regularly scheduled business hours. If you decide to take a budding explorer or naturalist ages 5-17: 

You and your budding explorer or naturalist can bond together as you discover marine life in the Discovery Tidepool, or become stargazing gurus during an after-hours planetarium show. Don't forget to visit the Tusher African Hall to interact with a Penguin specialist and learn more about Pierre — the Academy’s famous wetsuit-wearing penguin. Before bedtime, enjoy the sounds of the rainforest birds and settle in for story time while snacking on cookies and milk. When the lights go out, curl up in your sleeping bag in African Hall, or next to the swaying kelp beds in the California Coast tank, or at the Swamp window, where you will be face-to-face with Claude, the albino alligator. In the morning, rise and shine, then head over to the Academy Café for a continental breakfast. 

If you bring a guest 21 or older:

Grown-ups receive special programming for adults including talks with key speakers, visits to the Academy vaults, and a pajama contest with prizes. Funds from Dinner on the Pacific Plate Auction help fund important park preservation and environmental education projects at Point Reyes National Seashore. All donations made above fair market value will be tax-deductible.

*The winning bidder can choose from:

The Penguins + Pajamas Youth Sleepover for Two 
(Ages 5-17 with accompanying adult) 

OR

The Penguins + Pajamas Grownup Sleepover for Two 
(Age 21 and over only) 

Each program has its own rules and activities, see link above for full description and available dates. The winning bidder will schedule their Penguin + Pajama Sleepover from any of the available dates now through June of 2014 directly with museum staff. Programming may vary from event to event and based on youth or adult programs.
