Item Special Note
Metal The Brand (MTB) is the personal art of Michael O. Wieclaw, silly heart and communications professional in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The name Metal is Wieclaw’s nickname, which stuck through nearly a decade of touring / playing / working in the music industry.
The art is comprised of Pop art, graphic illustration, screen-printing, apparel, and molded toys & gummi snacks.
In March of 2012 the Metal The Brand Kickstarter campaign was launched. Its goal was to successfully raise enough funds to print a first run of all-over and maggot printed t-shirts. The goal was met and exceeded.
In December of 2012, Wieclaw/MTB won the voted title of Best Visual Artist in Burqueño publication Albuquerque The Magazine.
At the beginning of 2013, Wieclaw/MTB was commissioned to design and print shirts for the cast and crew of Breaking Bad during their last filming of the series. Since, the I "Meth" New Mexico shirt has been made available for purchase after buzz and notoriety on the internet.
Wieclaw is currently making a transition from working in the music industry as a touring merchandise manager and live drummer to a full time creative in the Albuquerque area. An area in which he has completely fallin' head over heels in love with for it's laid back environment, beauty, DIY music and art scenes and -- you guessed it -- the green chile.
