This Kimono belonged to Rieko Chiba Tuttle, who with her husband Charles E. Tuttle, built Tuttle Publishing. She was the inspiration and knowledge behind hundreds of Tuttle books that taught the US about Japanese culture, history, language and arts.
The Kimono is two piece, made of a beautiful thick brocade silk reminiscent of water, waves, and the universe. The coloring is iridescent silver, with shades of purple.
