At sixteen, Shih performed the Mendelssohn piano concerto with the Boston Long Wood Symphony Orchestra as competition winner. She received several First Place awards: Boston Walnut Hill Music Camp Piano Concerto Competition, Fort Dodge Youth Concerto Competition, Iowa State University Concerto Competition, National Taiwan Normal University Music Department Competition, and finalist for the National Fort Collins Piano Concerto Competition.
In addition to her competition circuit, Shih performed for the Vice President at the Taiwan Presidential Inauguration banquet.
