Book, 232 Pages

Dr. Michael H. Carr, a planetary geologist, has participated in almost every US, Russian, and European mission to Mars. He has worked on lunar geologic mapping programs and in a variety of Apollo program activities that included training astronauts in the geology of lunar landscapes and in selecting the ideal rock samples to bring back to Earth. Donated by the Estate of Samuel Robbins.

Our knowledge of Mars has grown enormously as a result of the Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Odyssey, Mars Express, and the Mars Rover missions. The Surface of Mars by Michael H. Carr is a systematic summary of the geological evolution of Mars as a result of these missions. Highly illustrated. Published by Yale University Press (1982). 232 pages.
