About the artist, Lalo Alcaraz:

Lalo Alcaraz is a Los Angeles-based author, cartoonist, and satirist. He has a long history of work that is relevant to Latinos and especially Chicano-Mexicanos in California and throughout the Southwest. He is the creator of the nationally syndicated comic strip “La Cucaracha,” and has run his “Ñews and Satire” website Pocho (www.pocho.com) for many years. He has won numerous press awards in recognition of his work. He additionally produces editorial cartoons for several national publications, hosts the Friday afternoon drive-time program “Pocho Hour of Power” at KPFK-FM in Los Angeles, and has published four books of his cartoon work, including Latino USA, a graphic novel used in many history classrooms today.
