Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom began in 1963, taking viewers to the far corners of the world to see wild animals in their natural habitats. Host Peter Gros has 30 years of field experience with wildlife and is a frequent lecturer on conservation across the country.
Imagine sailing on San Francisco Bay with Peter, hearing the inside stories of his incredible experiences. Two lucky winners Two lucky winners will depart Sausalito and head to San Francisco’s Aquarium at the Bay for an insiders tour!
Admission and backstage activities for 2 people at the new Feed the Sharks Tour. Each person will receive a bucket of seafood to feed to sharks, rays, skates and other fishes in the Aquarium’s 350,000 gallon offshore tunnel exhibit. Participants will also try their hand at aquatic biology, testing the pH and oxygen levels of San Francisco Bay water in the Aquarium’s research lab.
Naturalists will guide guests down the catwalk over the Aquarium’s Near shore and Offshore tunnel exhibits and allow them to view areas not on exhibit, like the baby jellies nursery, the skate grow-out and holding space, and other behind-the-scenes animal care work areas.
Sail back to Sausalito back to Sausalito, ending what will most certainly be a day you’ll never forget.
Item Special Note
Peter Gros has nearly 30 years of field experience with wildlife. In his former position as Director of Land Animals and Vice President at Marine World/Africa USA, he and his team established breeding programs for hundreds of endangered animals. He also developed a rehabilitation program for birds of prey, as well as the largest captive breeding colony of ostriches in the United States. He is a licensed U.S.D.A. exhibitor and a wildlife lecturer. An active member of the American Zoo and Aquariums Association as well as the Zoological Association of America, Gros is also on the Board of Directors of the Suisun Marsh Natural History Association, and a trustee for the Cheetah Conservation Fund.
