Item Description

FEATURED Artist: Crickett Hoffman of Huntsville, AL
Title: "Tats for Tits"
Dedication: Kat Taylor Kirk

Crickett began her crafting journey in 2010 after suffering a major illness and then a heartbreak that left her in despair. In the spring she was feeling like she lost a major part of herself, however by fall she came to realize that she was gaining a new self. A stronger, happier, more artistic person emerged.

As she was hiking on Monte Sano one day with a friend and she came across some acorns. She was reminded of my childhood in Northern California, where she would collect acorns and make them into little characters and play with them for hours. She took a few acorns home with her and gave them faces with a Sharpie. Soon she had acorns all over the house. Christmas of 2010 is often thought of as The Acorn Christmas, as all of the decorations had little acorn people in them.  Crafting acorns soothed her soul and mended her heart.  Crickett signed on for a craft swap on Facebook, and created the first Zombie Acorns and the original hanging sugar skull for my exchange items. The response was overwhelming, and she has been crafting it up at Crickett's Little Corner of Craftiness nonstop.

As of now Crickett's arts and crafts can be found exclusively at The Switch House in Huntsville, Al.

When Crickett is not hanging out with acorns and skulls, she manages a local house cleaning company, J. Q. Russell INC. Her mother in law started the company over 15 years ago, and together they have created the best cleaning service in Madison County. She loves her job and the many wonderful people there. Crickett's first Brasterpiece in 2011 was dedicated to her mother in law, Jayne Russell and the second was dedicated to a client, Mary Hendricks. These two breast cancer survivors are inspirational women.

Crickett loves music, people, art, colors, nature, and animals. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and strive to be the best Aunt Crickett ever. She shares a home in Huntsville, AL with her husband and son, both talented musicians, two cats, a turtle, and a beta fish. Oh yeah, and a lot of acorns!
