Item Description

27" x 15" x 16"

Ceramic, Steel, Granite

Sarah Mott holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Ceramics. Her work has been exhibited throughout the US as well as in Canada, Europe, Japan and South America. Sarah teaches at Dean College in Franklin, MA.

Sarah is drawn to the natural world and it's inhabitants as constant sources if inspiration. The shapes, diversity of pattern and seemingly endless color combinations of mushrooms are the subjects of a recent body of her work. By their nature fungi are such fleeting gems. Creating them in high fire clay and adorning them with colorful glazes allows her not only to explore and capture their eccentric essence but also to add them back into the landscape to be enjoyed year round.
