Barbara Snapp: Barbara is a scientist and educator who has enjoyed many forms of visual and performing arts as a consumer since childhood. In 2003 she retired from her career and moved to Maine. At that time, she fulfilled a long-time promise to herself – to “take some art classes.” Barbara began with a focus on realistic representational work with graphite and colored pencil. She has since expanded to work with watercolor, pastel, collage and printing. Although she gravitates naturally to objects and scenes from nature, Barbara’s work in the serendipitous and unpredictable world of abstract watercolor, monotypes, and collages allows her to find an unstructured spontaneity that balances the structured world of science and realism.

Since 2005, Barbara has exhibited work with other artists at venues in Brunswick, Topsham, Bath, and Damariscotta.
