Item Special Note

Pelkey's Archery Inc. began in 1975 because of a passion for the sport of bows and arrows. After attending the World Archery Center, originally known as Teela-Wooket Archery Camp in Roxbury, Vermont, George Pelkey decided to spread the word of archery to his friends and community. Initially a part-time hobby, Pelkey's Archery expanded in 1983 to a 24' X 36' building and slowly increased inventory. Even though the size of the business was growing, George Pelkey kept his philosophy of 'customer is king'. George truly believed that if he treated his customers as he would want to be treated, he could create an archery community that would allow the sport to grow as well as bring families together by participating in the art of bows and arrows.

In 1991 after graduating from Clarkson University, Ron Pelkey, George's son joined him and together they doubled the size of the inventory and added a 26' X 30' addition. After an increased demand for year round shooting, George & Ron added a 32' X 100' 2 story building in 1994 to incorporate an indoor shooting range to go along with their outdoor 80 yard range.

The current building features almost 5000 square feet of showroom space, two indoor ranges with up to 20 yards of shooting space, and a four hundred square foot fletching room / arrow building center, strictly for building custom made arrows. Pelkey's Archery has the largest inventory of archery equipment and supplies in the state, and we still pride ourselves on customer service.

In response to our commitment to excellence in products and service, Pelkey's Archery Inc. was honored by being voted 'Dealer of the Year' in the East Region by Archery Business Magazine.

In 2006, George retired after thirty years of teaching and sharing his archery experience.  He now lives in New York with his wife and enjoy having their grandchildren visit for some good old outdoor fun!
