Item Description
This violin was painted for the West Virginia Youth Symphony by local WV artist, Betty Warner.
Betty Warner works almost exclusively in watercolor in her studio in Charleston, WV and on locations. She has won awards in many juried exhibits, including International Artists in Watercolor, London, England, and National Artists in Watercolor in New York, as well as such regional organizations as the West Virginia Watercolor Society.
Her solo exhibits include the West Virginia Division of Culture and History, Ohio State University, University of Charleston, West Virginia State University, The College of Wooster, Rehoboth (Delaware) Art League, Burke Arts Council (NC), Robert C. Byrd Federal Courthouse, and a number of other venues.
Her works appear in institutional collections including The Chemical Heritage Foundation (Philadelphia), J. M. Smucker Company, Huntington Banks, The College of Wooster, The University of Charleston, The WV Division of Culture and History, West Virginia State University, and others, including banks and law firms. Her works appear in many private collections, including that of US Senator Jay Rockefeller.
