Item Description
Artist: Jerry Mose
Dedication is a charcoal pencil drawing of three orphans looking after each other.
About the artist: Jerry was born in Benin City, Edo State Nigeria. Jerry's father was trained by his "Uncle" and in turn, trained his brother, several cousins, nephew and Jerry in the Fine Art of Carving in various materials. Throughout his childhood and into young adulthood, he apprenticed and worked in his father's gallery in their hometown of Benin City. He studied Art at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State. In 2004 he received an award for Best Realism Carver in Wood and Stone from the National Association of Fine and Applied Arts Students . He earned a degree (OND/ Ordinary National Diploma) in Painting and General Arts and a second Degree, equivalent to a Bachelors degree, (HND/ Higher National Diploma) in Sculpture/Ceramics. He continued his arts education at an affiliate school in the UK and proceeded to do shows and exhibitions there as well as in Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria. Today, Jerry works out of his home in Seattle, experimenting with various mediums.
