Item Description
60 percent of all wines are bought by women; and women buy 85% of wines under $18. But ask any fine wine producer in Napa how many women are on their mailing list and the answer is almost none ... less than 1 percent.
At wine tastings across the U.S., we have frequently heard women say they really don't know much about wine, and that they weren't sure if they could tell the difference between a basic beverage wine and a fine wine. Yet when tasting the two side by side, almost always they preferred the fine, handcrafted wine.
The real truth is the wine industry has made buying wine intimidating. For this reason, Rarecat Winery vintner, Sharon Harris, founded A Woman’s Palate to introduce women to fine wine in a safe and supportive environment. She is offering 8 lucky guests an evening of lessons in fine wine. Wine and food pairings will be offered.
JAWS board member, Lisen Stromberg, will be hosting this event in her home.
