Venture with Ker & Downey to Namibia and Botswana on a fantastic journey full of natural beauty and profound meaning. Begin in Namibia and stay at the Babson House which neighbors the Cheetah Conservation Fund headquarters in the Waterberg Plateau. With cheetah ambassadors just steps away from the house, you will experience these graceful creatures up close. After 3 nights you will continue on to Botswana, to the heart of the northern Okavango Delta and Shinde, located at the edge of a lagoon and surrounded by clear waterways and palm-fringed islands teeming with birdlife and game. Delight in the best game viewing and bird watching in some of the most luxurious surroundings in the Delta.
This itinerary includes 3 nights at the Babson House and 3 nights at Shinde including all meals, beverages and activities. At the Babson House guests will explore the CCF facilities and learn more about the history of the cheetah in the region. As one of Namibia’s leading organizations for cheetah conservation and rehabilitation, CCF is constantly caring for cheetahs and managing local outreach programs. At the center guests can watch cheetahs on their morning run and see them eat their lunch. Beyond the center, game drives to cheetah habitats and Herero villages are also possible.
Luxury,safari-style tents with windows await you at Shinde. These private tents include modern en suite bathrooms with hot running water in ample supply. Comfort and exclusivity best describe the accommodations at Shinde and the service of the staff is impeccable, courteous and inviting. Shinde accommodates only 16 guests in total, ensuring that yours is an intimate escape. At Shinde you will enjoy 4x4 game drives, guides walks, mokoros and boating in the channels.
This safari includes the transfers from Windhoek to the Babson House and back to Windhoek, the flight from Windhoek to Maun, Botswana and the light aircraft flights from Maun to Shinde Camp and back to Maun.
