Item Description

Wish you had some special socks made just right, but can't knit them yourself? Or have you always wanted an object embued with the essence of the radio station you love? This item is for you!

You will pick out a mutually agreeable yarn* at a mutually agreeable time with Katherine in December 2013 or January 2014 and then your new little creations will be cast on at the next KUNM staff meeting and from that moment until they are finished they will go almost everywhere with the auction coordinator.  If you know her, you know she knits at staff meetings, Radio Board Meetings, KUNM General Meetings, Development meetings, lectures, parties and on the occaisional long walk on flat terrain.

The last pair she made were a very well traveled and cultured accoutrement over the six months of their completion. They even survived a short adventure on their own in a baseball stadium out East, but that is another story.  Your socks will have their own tales to tell, but their real purpose for being is to find a home on your happy feet while raising much needed funds for kunm.org, public radio from the University of New Mexico.

They are made of machine washable non-itchy wool that holds up to the occasional run through the dryer while cossetting your tootsies through lots of normal wear and tear.   You choose the color and length - up to mid calf.

Katherine will also throw in a copy of "Knitticisms...and Other Purls of Wisdom," for you to enjoy reading while you wait for your new BFFs...

*Yarn choice can be negotiated in person or over the phone while perusing websites.

Terms For Pickup or Delivery of Items:

• The winner of each auction lot will receive an e-mail following the completion of the auction on November 21, 2013.

• Winning bidders are asked to respond to this e-mail and must do so by 12 p.m. MDT, November 22, to confirm their winning bid on the item(s) in the auction lot.

• The winners of each auction have the option of picking up their item(s) at designated pickup locations in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Details on these pickup locations will be communicated to winning bidders.

• Winning bidders also have the option of having their item(s) shipped to them at additional cost. Gift certificates can be mailed for a flat shipping and handling fee of $5. Any other item type can be shipped to the winning bidder at actual shipping cost, including insurance, for that particular item.
