The Wednesday Upbeat! series features a varied repertoire of traditional and modern works performed in an informal atmosphere. The 2013 series presented works by Bartók, Brahms Mahler, Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, Schubert, Schumann, Stravinsky, and others, plus composer-in-residence Derek Bermel and visiting composers William Bolcom and Huang Ruo. Featured artists included the Ying and Shanghai Quartets and the Naumburg Trio.
All performances, 7:30 PM at Studzinski Recital Hall, Bowdoin College.

The Bowdoin International Music Festival brings renowned artist instructors, performers, soloists, and gifted pre-professional classical musicians from around the world to beautiful Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine each summer for six weeks of intensive chamber music study, collaboration, and performance.
Musicians from groups such as the New York Philharmonic and Cleveland Orchestra, the Ying and Shanghai quartets, and major conservatories including Juilliard, Eastman, Indiana, Shanghai, and London’s Royal College collaborate with our summer study participants and present more than 80 concertseach season in seven concert series.
