figurative, abstract, visionary...

Gayle Glanz. a native Californian, moved to northern New Mexico in 1980. She is a prolific artist enjoying a variety of mediums. Her works can also be seen on:

Facebook : Gayle Glanz / Art    She is currently working on recycled restaurant menus and canvas on a series of abundance, gratitude and prayers for the planet.

STATEMENT:

My work is spontaneous / virtually unplanned. ************************************************************ Escaping on paper into an imaginary world has been a process I have engaged in since early childhood . Drawing and painting have always captured me and pulled me into a world of color and design which has entertained and nurtured me throughout my life.

Most paintings (drawings), for me, are about abundance and gratitude, about affection and our relatedness to each other ... and our unspoken guardianship of our plant and animal brothers and sisters.... Each piece displays this to the universe and to anyone who might enjoy a glimpse into my particular visions...

As a visual artist and an over-thirty year listener to KUNM, I enjoy donating a piece of art to the Auction as often as I can. KUNM  brings inspiration through the sounds of music and information sent to me anytime of the day or night. This leaves my hands free to draw or paint; my mind free to wander.

By donating art I get to share my intentions of hope as I see it through someone else donating to KUNM. And helping to them receive a visual gift for their donation. I find these auctions  a double win for each of us. Not only do we receive the sounds and works of hundreds of people who volunteer their time to continue KUNM as we know it, but by donating or bidding at these auctions we receive the gift of sharing the community spirit with whatever each of us has to give back to each other and to give to KUNM.
