The Glass Menagerie

by Tennessee Williams

February 9 – March 2, 2014

Using his own life, Tennessee Williams created this exquisite memory play.  Amanda Wingfield is a fading southern belle who is determined to hold her family together in any way she can.  Her son, Tom, struggles to escape both his present and his past, but his love for his wounded sister, Laura, keeps him bound…forever compelled to tell the story of the night she met her gentleman caller.  Filled with the heartbreaking beauty that marks Williams’ best work, The Glass Menagerie remains a compelling and timeless piece of theatre.

Production Sponsored by Lyn Tornabene

Oklahoma!

music by Richard Rodgers, book & lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein

March 9 – April 6, 2014

Based on Lynn Riggs’ 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs, this musical is set in the Western Indian Territory in 1906.  The high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Rodgers and Hammerstein's timeless music celebrates America's vigorous pioneering spirit with athletic dance numbers and boot-stomping energy. The musical contains such classic show tunes as Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’, People Will Say We're in Love and the title song, Oklahoma!

Production Sponsored by Jane Kivel and Campbell, Yost, Clare & Norell, P.C.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

by William Shakespeare

April 13 – May 4, 2014

Join us as we close out our season with one of Shakespeare's most beloved comedies.  Filled with lovers, fairies and rustics, A Midsummer Night's Dream has something for everyone.  Add a misapplied love potion, mistaken identities and the most famous play-within-a play ever written and you have a perfect recipe for mirth.  The language, poetry, and wit of Shakespeare shine as bright and as lovely as the moon in this timeless classic.

Production Sponsored by Pat Engels & Richard Medland
