Item Description
As the holidays are approaching it is important to remember Gordo's story. He was born in October of 2012 and was sold from an online breeder as a "Christmas Present" The breeder had no regard for the puppies he was breeding and treated them as "things" "items" he could sell and make a profit from. Gordo ended up in a family who did not have any prior Bulldog experience. They thought all Bulldogs "sound" like he did. They thought "coughing and throwing up food" was a normal way of life too. Gordo had his first ER visit in Jan 2013 for pneumonia. He was never brought back for follow up care and it remained with him as he aspirated often. Frail, tiny, and weakened he ended up in the hands of Long Island Bulldog Rescue in April 2013. Though all efforts were made by rescue and the staff at Long Island Veterinary Specialists our precious angel passed on 6/25/13. He leaves us with a very important message this holiday. "Puppies are not presents they are FAMILY!" Please spread his story this holiday. We will have buttons for sale to promote his campaign. If you can stop one impulse Holiday Puppy purchase you have saved a life. Gordo did not get the second chance he deserved but his message lives on so others can. Please do not support online puppy websites, Stores that sell puppies, or backyard breeders! Choose RESCUE Save a Life this HOLIDAY!
