Paddler extraordinaire and Mississippi River expert John Sullivan offers a one-of-a-kind trip that will give you insights about America's River that you won't find anywhere else. John will lead a group of up to four people, by canoe or kayak, into the fascinating world of the back waters and sloughs of the Mississippi River near La Crosse.
Learn about the Mississippi, from microscopic creatures to the great geologic forces that shaped the river. Paddle through braided rivers of grass, towering floodplain forests, and backwater river channels. Take in the wonder of the flora and fauna that inhabit this unique ecosystem.
Item Special Note
Redeemable mid-May to October 2014. Limit four people. Winning bidder will provide their own boat, PFDs, paddles. A lunch and beverages will be provided. Route and length of paddle will depend on flow conditions and paddler experience, but expect a 4-5 hour paddling trip on relatively calm waters. No technical paddling experience is necessary (translation: there will be no rapids).
