Winemaker's Notes
Bodega Catena Zapata is one of Argentina's high altitude Malbec pioneers. The Catena family began making wine in Mendoza in 1902. Nicolas Catena, third generation family vintner, was one of the first to see the potential of Mendoza's mountain vineyards for producing high quality Malbec.
The Catena 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon has a dark reddish violet color. The nose presents intense aroma of cassis, red currants with a touch of eucalyptus and tea leaves. The mouthfeel is full yet soft, with concentrated fruit flavors; notes of cedar and tobacco and a long lingering finish.
