Item Description
Here's a rare opportunity for birders and nature lovers, and a great way for friends and family to share a memorable outdoor adventure! This is our fifth year offering this waterfowl birding adventure, and every winner has told us that they had a wonderful time.
Dea Armstrong, City Ornithologist for the City of Ann Arbor and Ray Stocking, former President of the Washtenaw Audubon Society are offering a personal waterfowl birding trip in early March 2014 for one family with up to four participants.
This birding trip will start down by Ford Lake and work its way up the Huron River, ending up just north of Barton Dam at Maple Road Bridge. This adventure is sure to delight you and your friends.
Item Special Note
This trip is for one family with up to four participants on a Saturday in early to mid March 2014. Arrangements and actual date will be made in January. Open ice is required for success, so the actual date of this trip will remain TBD until then.
It is very important that the winning bidder contact Dea and Ray before Jan 31st to schedule this tour."This is an auto trip, we will not use watercraft as the river will still have ice in many places (plus - too cold!!!). We will scan the shores of the Huron River at established locations where waterfowl rest as they migrate through Washtenaw County on their way to northern nesting grounds. Dea and I will provide spotting scopes. We can also provide binoculars, but only upon request." -Ray Stocking
