Recent winner of a prestigious "Greenest Boat Award", the Voyage 440 Catamaran was the first and only catamaran ever to win Cruising World's overall "Cruising Boat of the Year" award. This Alex Simonis designed, South African built bluewater cat has a well earned reputation for excellent performance, outstanding build quality, and head turning eye appeal that make her stand tall among other cats in her size. Alternate Latitude was built in 2001 however she went through a refit in 2012.
Boat History
Alternate Latitude was built in 2001 in South Africa by Voyage Yachts, and was sailed from South Africa to the BVI’s and put into the Voyage charter program. It was originally called KiKiKat and registered in Britain. Cruising World reviewed the Voyage 440 in the April 2002 issue, it is the first multihull to win their boat of the year contest. KiKiKat is the actual boat they test sailed, see the original article below.
KiKiKat was with Voyage Yacht Charters until 2004 when her next owner purchased her, renamed her Pussycat and brought her to Key West. Courtesy of hurricane Wilma in 2005, she spent many months on the hard and was given a new port engine and sail drive as well as some cosmetic upgrades. She was lightly chartered until 2008 when the owner decided to sell her. She sat mostly unused for 3 years, we purchased her in Ft. Lauderdale at the end of 2011 and sailed her back to Houston for a refit and then sailed her to the Virgin Islands in December 2012.
Here she waits for you to help write her future, come on down and enjoy the beautiful waters of the Caribbean.
