First, Surviving the Dragon, which is signed by the author, is the remarkable life story of Arjia Rinpoche, who was ordained as a reincarnate lama at the age of two and fled Tibet 46 years later. This memoir relates the story of becoming a spiritual leader, forced manual labor, to fleeing from Tibet and arriving in the United States. This book provides a window into the continuing conflict between Tibet and China.
Next, in The Autobiography of a Tibetan Monk, Palden Gyatso tells the story of 25 years enduring torture and interrogation simply for the strength of his beliefs. This account bears witness to the resilience of the human spirit, and to the strength of Tibet's proud civilization.
Third, in Daughter of Tibet, The Autobiography of Rinchen Dolma Taring, you will hear a story that covers the crucial fifty years up to 1959 including the freedoms, pleasures and pains, and customs and traditions of Tibetan life. Since her exile she has dedicated her work to Tibetan refugee children and elders in India. Conveying through humor, kindness and resilience, the great faith of the Tibetan people.
