Item Description
Idle Hour Winery is Oakhurst’s first winery. We are located at the Queen’s Inn By The River, a quaint 8-room inn and winebar on the Fresno River. Our wines are produced in small lots. We use sustainably grown grapes and make the wine gently, using native yeasts, gravity flow and other traditional methods.
Oakhurst's Idle Hour Winery received top awards recently at the 2011 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the largest competition of American wines in the world.
More than 5,000 wine entries in 50 divisions were scrutinized by 60 professional wine judges before choosing the award-winning wines. Three wines entered in the competition by Idle Hour won awards, including the 2007 Tempranillo for Best in Class, the highest honor given in each division. The 2008 Cabernet Franc won a Gold medal and the 2009 Viognier won a Bronze medal.
