Item Description

Have lunch with one of Cleveland Heights' newest City Council members, Jeff Coryell.

Jeff Coryell is a former attorney who represented government agencies as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Assistant Attorney General. After a successful ten-year legal career he returned to school for a Masters in Fine Art degree and became an artist and art teacher, operating his painting studio as a small business. His most recent exhibition was at the Feinberg Gallery in Cain Park in 2012.

He is also an active community volunteer, serving on the boards of the community non-profit organizations FutureHeights and Reaching Heights and on the steering committee of the Sustainable Heights Network. Recently he established the Heights Community Garden Network and helped start the new Montford Community Garden; helped organize a week-long Local Food Week to educate the community on the value of eating local to our environment, health, and local economy; and coordinated the new Heights Music Hop, a festival of live music that debuted on October 18, 2013 in the Cedar Lee Business District.

Jeff has been a political writer, activist and consultant, including serving as President of the Cleveland Heights Democrats and working as the New Media Director for a U.S. Senate campaign. He lives with spouse Phyllis L. Crocker and two golden retrievers in the Fairfax neighborhood and is a nineteen-year Cleveland Heights resident.

Melt Bar & Grilled, located at the corner of Cedar and Taylor roads in Cleveland Heights, features gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and an extensive beer selection.
