Take a class at Access Tucson. Learn how to make your own media. Your choice of Digital Field Production or Studio Production.

Studio Production:

Superior technical quality, large production studios and live cablecast capability, the Access Tucson studios provide an exceptional production environment for your program. The Studio Production class provides comprehensive multi-camera production training. Studio lighting, audio, camera operation, and floor managing are covered in the first part of this course. Technical set-up and operation for the cameras, audio mixer, basic switching and directing skills comprise the second half of class.

Length of class: 6 nights over 2 consecutive weeks

Prerequisite: Orientation (free)

Offered: Monthly, Mon., Tues. & Wed. 5:45 – 9:00 p.m.

Digital Field Production:

For the producer whose ideas take them outside a studio setting, this class provides instruction for producing on location. Single camera production techniques, location lighting, field audio, story boarding, shooting for editing and non-linear editing are all covered in this class. Students learn production using the latest technology--shooting with HD cameras and editing with FCP X.

Length of class: 6 nights over 2 consecutive weeks

Instructors:

Tim O’Grady has worked as a videographer and editor for KOLD Channel 13 & Tucson 12, the City information channel in addition to numerous commercials and syndicated programs.

Larry Foster currently teaches film production and film history at the Art Institute. He has also been an instructor for the U of A’s Media Arts Program. He has had an extensive career in the television industry acting as a director for KUAT, KOLD and KGUN’s newscasts.
