Item Description
Buried within the Amazon Rainforest and Yasuní Biosphere Reserve, the luxurious Napo Wildlife Center Ecolodge is located in one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. This 4 day, 3 night stay for 2 is the closest guests can get to experience living among the local Añangu Kichwa community, which owns and manages the lodge. The lodge features 12 large individual cabañas, each with private forest and lake views. When Napo guests arrive, they are assigned two guides: one expert from the Kichwa community and one naturalist to educate guests on the area’s significant ecological and cultural diversity. This retreat includes community excursions and ecological tours, by both canoe on the Añangu Lake and on foot in the forest.
Sustainability Initiatives: The Napo Wildlife Center Ecolodge is 100% owned by the Añangu Kichwa community, and the revenue from the lodge goes toward protecting the Yasuní Biosphere Reserve, the largest tract of tropical rainforest in Ecuador. Napo is a pioneer in the region, coordinating projects for sustainable development, education, health, and conservation. Napo is a 2009 Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Standard-Setter.
