Item Description
You are bidding on a truely unique item: a stand up paddle board designed specifically for our auction!
Chad Fisher is the artist who creates these hand crafted stand up paddle boards. His company, Orange Board Co., is located just outside of Tampa, Florida in a town named Safety Harbor. Every board he builds is done from the ground up. Chad's business partner Kumpa Tawornprom is a master sculptor. Kumpa has done extensive work ranging anywhere from movie sets to theme parks and he has been sculpting foam for over 20 years.
Chad has been a custom car builder and a creator of all things art for 20 plus years. His work has been featured on the covers of magazines and his cars have been sold to clients all over the world.
Together Chad and Kumpa decided to start custom building Stand Up Paddle Boards last year and the business has been growing rapidly since day 1. All of their boards are made from EPS foam as the core, with a 1/4'' milled plank of Bass wood as a stringer down the middle for strength. Each board is hot wired from a huge block of foam as they actually make their own blanks. They then glue their rockers in and let it cure to set over night. The next day they hand cut, carve, and finally hand sand or "Shape" the board, all by eye and a trained feel. All of their boards are laid up using a 10oz. cloth on bottom and a 10oz followed by a 6 oz cloth on top, going the full length, not just a deck pad. Then multiple coats of epoxy resin are used. Sand sand and more sand, then prime and paint using only the top line of PPG Urethane Base coat clear coat systems.
Every board is custom painted by Chad and will never be duplicated! Therefore every board is a true 1 of a kind.
Item Special Note
This board is named "Bubbles Up" and has been signed by the artists Chad Fisher and Kumpa Tawornprom. The dimensions of the board are 11' long by 31" wide and an average of 4.5" thickness with a real Displacement Hull design. This board fly's through the water effortlessly, and weighs roughly 32lbs fully rigged.
Bidder is responsible for Shipping and Handling fee, which will be added to the winning bid amount. Item will be shipped directly from Chad at the Orange Board Company and billed at standard industry rates. Please, United States shipping only.
