ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Artist Theresa Gaylord brings to life a soothing reality that touches each heart in each of her works. Diversified subjects are sure to bring a new focal point of joy in your home or office.

Born in Toledo, Ohio in 1958, there were 9 family members including her father who was raised during The Depression and worked in a factory all of his life. He always made time to amuse his seven children by drawing cartoons. As a young child, Theresa was often bullied for “being poor” and shy. She made her escape into a world of art ; often studied at the Toledo Museum. A self taught artist, she learned at an early age the art of floral design and this became her career for more than 25 years.

After her retirement, one year ago, she chose to focus on painting again. She has donated her works to The American Cancer Society, The Alzheimer’s Association, The Regional Faith Assocations, Carl Perkins Child Abuse Center, and Find the Cure for Alzheimers.

“Growing up poor” has instilled in her heart the mission to help others. She showcases many of her works when she can at local galleries and events in her current hometown in Tennessee. But her talent for her ART is only matched and driven by her commitment to give back.
