The Four Gospels: A New Translation (1933), by Charles Cutler Torrey. From the personal library of noted Presbyterian minister Dr. Howard M. Morgan, with his signature, dated 1934.
Item Special Note
The translator claims the original manuscripts of the four Gospels were written in Aramaic and later translated to Greek. Torrey, professor of semitic languages at Yale University, says, "The attempt is here made to give an English rendering which takes constant account of the original Semitic text, everywhere closley reproduced in the Greek."
