Item Description
Mixed media wood board 12" h x 4" w
This piece is one in a series of small works guitars created to mimick historical instruments by well known musicians. This guitar was recreated to mirror Jimi Hendrix's 1965 Fender which he burned onstage in London in 1967. Subsequently, this was one of only two that Jimi actually burned on stage. This reproduction captures the guitar in its burned state, recreated from historical photographs of the guitar's remains. The wood board includes ghosted flames with charcoal infused edges.
Artist: Jonathon Ortiz-Smykla
