Myofascial release or MFR is a hands-on modality where gentle pressure is used to release fascia restrictions to decrease pain and increase motion. Restrictions are caused by trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures. Restrictions can produce pressures of up to 2,000 pounds per square inch of pain. All horses can benefit from this work. It is useful as part of a horse's maintenance program as well as to help speed up the recovery process after an injury.
Gibby Booth has been around horses her whole life. She graduated from UMD with an animal science degree in 2012 and then went on to become a licensed humane massage therapist and human and equine myofascial release practitioner. She loves helping horses feel better and finds the work very rewarding. She will travel 50 miles of zip code 21797 (Woodbine, MD).
