Item Description
This pair of matching rugs can also double as two floor pillows -- just fill each one with stuffing and zipper close (each pillow has a zipper along one of its sides).
These rugs are hand-made and hand-knotted using wool and natural, plant-based dyes. Purchased in Tehran, Iran in 2002, these rugs, which have never been used and measure approximately 27x44 inches, feature the geometrical patterns and beautiful red color characteristic of Turkmen designs. Turkmen reside mainly in Turkmenistan and in the provinces of Golestan and North Khorasan of Iran and Central Asia.
The winning bidder receives the pair, with each rug valued at $600.
Your every bid supports the mission and students of The Wellington School.
Item Special Note
Cleaning: Persian rugs are made to last generations. They are very strong and meant for everyday use. To remove a stain from the carpet, simply use a damp cloth or a little bit of soap and water. Professional cleaning may be needed every 12-15 years. Please note the hand-written codes on the reverse side of the rugs are inventory markings from the Tehran gallery.
