Item Description
African masks are often considered to be the most powerful form of creative art and thought, as channels for ancestral spirits, to offer protection and comfort to a family or clan. This mask was purchased in 2001 at an antiques market in Paris. While not an antique, it was hand-made by the Serer ethnic group of Senegal. It measures approximately 10 inches wide by 28 inches tall.
