Item Description

Help fund the cost of vetting & fostering for a rescued Papillon by contributing $25. The average cost for vetting a newly rescued Papillon is between $300 and $500. The cost continues as they are fostered until finding their Forever Families.  Your contribution will help cover costs for recent and future rescues!

PHOTOS ON THIS ITEM ARE: Redford, Buffy, Sage, & Radar.  Their stories appear below:

Redford (photo 1) was named after the famous movie star who also has red hair and is very handsome. Given to us by a woman who lost her job and then her home, he has a happy disposition despite all the changes he has been through.

Buffy (photo 2) is one of the sweetest Papillons. She is still young enough to love to play, but she can be quiet in the house too. Her coat is long and silky. She needs attention to train her in proper leash walking, but she is so cheerful it won't take long. Buffy will make a loving companion for a quiet home or a playful addition to a home with other dogs. She is very curious about everything and must have a fenced yard to be safe.

Sage (photo 3) was a sad little boy when he was brought in to a shelter along with several other dogs from a hoarding situation in MS. Held in filthy crates outside, he was such a mess that it took a couple warm baths before they could tell he was a Papillon, but his big ears gave him away.  When Sage arrived at the Pap 911 Dog House in Marietta, GA, he had very little fur and his skin had several sores. Worst of all, he was heartworm positive. Lucky for him, we had experience with the gentle "slow kill" method of heartworm treatment and he has thrived on this treatment for 6 months.  Sage is a little scamp that will make you laugh. He is full of wonderful playfulness that somehow survived his rough beginnings. Despite his small size, he won't get pushed around.

Radar, the newest Butterfly had a very long flight to The Dog House! Our best friends at Pilots and Paws, Susan and David Beaman, gave Radar their strong wings to fly him all the way from Paducah, KY, to Atlanta, GA.

A lady in Kentucky got him off of Craig's List, but knew something was wrong with him from the start. He did not walk much and really seemed terrified of people. She said the man who had him never gave him a name.

We immediately evaluated little Radar. First, it seemed the muscles in his back legs had not been used much and while the bones grew, he may have been in a box where he could not stand up. Radar had a big open fontanel that would never close, and he did not see much out of one eye.

After only 2 weeks with foster Mom, Jodi, Radar was walking and straightening up quite a bit as his muscles stretched. With Jodi's good food and loving care, he gained 5 ounces. Sadly, Radar's situation worsened quickly, and he went to the Rainbow Bridge in late March. Pap 911 is happy to have provided this little Darling with a month of loving care. He touched the hearts of all who knew him!

Note:  Photos 4, 5, 6 show Radar on March14 in his new bed, with Susan on February 26, and eating on February 26,  respectively.
