About the Artist: Christin Hutchinson began her career as an artist early in college while attending The Ohio State University. It was soon after being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of nineteen that she decided to pursue her passion for painting seriously. Christin received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and drawing in March of 2003 and continued her studies at The Ohio State University to receive her Master of Fine Arts degree in June 2005. During her time at The Ohio State University, Christin was the recipient of the prestigious Fergus-Gilmore Memorial Scholarship Award and became the first artist selected for the Fergus-Gilmore permanent collection. Her paintings are on permanent display in the office of the Dean of the College of the Arts and as a part the Ohio Staters Collection at the Ohio State University. She is continuously recognized in the Ohio Art League juried competitions exhibiting in numerous Ohio locations including the Columbus Museum of Art, the Columbus Cultural Arts Center, and the Springfield Museum of Art. Among the many awards Christin has received, the Ohio Art League named Christin as one of the top artists in the 2006 Fall juried show with the Blick Art Award and in the 2008 Spring show with the Bad Girls for Good Art Award. Christin’s work has been published in the New York based DirectArt Magazine and named as one of the new emerging artists of 2005. While living in New York for a residency program at the School of Visual Arts, Christin had the opportunity to exhibit and create the new series Ribbons for two shows in 2007.
