A pioneer in education, Brooklyn Children’s Museum was the first museum created expressly for children when it was founded in 1899. Its success has sparked the creation of 300 children’s museums around the world. With award-winning, hands-on exhibits and innovative use of its collections, the Museum engages children from pre-school to high school in learning adventures. It is the only children’s museum in New York City, and one of few in the country, to be accredited by the American Association of Museums.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Brooklyn Children’s Museum is to actively engage children in educational and entertaining experiences through innovation and excellence in exhibitions, programs, and use of its collection. The Museum encourages children to develop an understanding of and respect for themselves, others and the world around them by exploring cultures, the arts, science, and the environment.

LOCATION

We’re located next to historic Brower Park, just one mile from Grand Army Plaza, at 145 Brooklyn Avenue (at St. Marks Avenue), Brooklyn, NY 11213. Use the links at left for maps and directions, dining options, and nearby cultural attractions.

THINGS TO KNOW

• Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (16 years of age or over).
• Adults must be accompanied by a child 16 years of age or under.
• The Totally Tots Exhibit is for children ages 5 and younger and closes at 4:45pm daily.  

Item Special Note

All winning bids are final.  No exceptions please.  Please read all
information carefully before bidding. All items are donated to GSHH and donors provide descriptions. We inspect all lots before listing but cannot guarantee description. Photos are provided for detail but we are unable to photograph each angle.

Handling: GSHH will charge a $4.10 handling, packaging, and processing fee for all items.

Shipping: We review the weight and value for all lots by shipping location to determine the
shipping charge.

Special Pick-Up of items at GSHH Regional Offices can be made to avoid shipping
charge only. You must notify administrator within 24 hours of winning bid notification to avoid shipping charges. No Exceptions please.

Items will be shipped within 14 days of successful payment processing.
