Item Description

2011 Loring "Garys' Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

92 points: Wine Spectator

"The pure ripe plum and black cherry fruit joins spice and wilted rose notes for a complex, delicate mix of flavors, gaining on the finish. Drink now through 2018." (2/ 2013)

90 points: Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"A bigger wine, the 2011 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard needs another year in bottle to round into shape. Offering up notions of currants, underbrush, dried leaves and crushed stone-like minerality, this medium-bodied, concentrated effort has beautiful overall symmetry and a silky, textured mid-palate. It shows the vintage nicely and should drink well through 2019. Drink 2014-2019. This was an impressive (and large) lineup of wines. Made by the brother/sister pair, Brian and Kimberly Loring, with Rachel Silkowski functioning as assistant winemaker, these efforts never lack for fruit or texture and, for the most part, reward immediate gratification. Having said that, I think these 2011s will offer a relatively broad drink window. The 2012s are more rich and voluptuous, with the purity of fruit and seamlessness of the vintage.   (8/ 2013)
