Item Description

Hand-Made 'The Road To Oklahoma' Quilt.  Over 95 hours went into making this fabulous quilt.  Reverses to a beautiful blue machine-stitched floral design.

In the spring of 1889, the U.S. government opened up 2 million acres of Indian Territory land in the west for white settlement.  Settlers from the east poured into what was then known as the Oklahoma Territory.  Perhaps it was one of those pioneer women, stitching along the trail to that new land, who named this simple-to-piece, yet fascinating, quilt pattern.

'The Road To Oklahoma' quilt creates a pattern within the pattern when the blocks are matched together.  The Road To Oklahoma quilt block uses squares and half square triangles and is done with a 16 block grid pattern.

Size:  63 x 80 inches
