Item Description
The winner will receive an un-framed, ready-to-hang, 3/4" canvas wrap (24x20" horizontal), giclee print titled "Dialup".
Michael Martinet is a disturbed individual. His tenuous relationship with reality is evidenced by an incessant production of exceedingly odd drawings. Posing as an electronics technician and software developer, Mike has been drawing ever since he learned to hide chalk from his concerned parents. Ranging from cryptic fantasies to cartoonish puns, most of his sketches are created in a
stream-of-consciousness mode, flowing (largely unhindered by editorial caution) from mind to paper to computer to print.
*The Botification Process*
Mike selects candidates from his sketches based on composition, quality of line and a discriminating appreciation of the delightfully peculiar. The lucky recruits are then scanned into the computer. Using graphics software, Mike turns the ballpoint pen lines into lush, inky bones and adds flesh in layers of dimensional and vibrant color. Electricity is applied and faint hearts flutter. The resulting files are giclee printed on bristol board and wrapped canvas. Each is signed by their creator.
