Item Description

Learn to make sushi in your own home!

Ms. Foster's experience of four years of living and teaching in Japan are yours for the learning during this local culinary adventure. You and up to 9 guests will experience a whirl-wind shopping tour of Tensuke Market, a genuine Japanese grocery store right here in Northwest Columbus. After learning how and where to buy quality ingredients, your party will gather in your home for a hands-on cooking class in Japanese home cooking. Guests will learn to create condiments such as pickled cucumbers and spicy mayo, make their own miso soup appetizer, and master basic sushi making techniques that will allow them to prepare their own sushi dinners at home. Best of all, your creations will become the dinner you share with your guests.

Erica Foster (Queen of Ms. Foster Land, Bacon Crafting Champion of Columbus, Ohio, 2009) is a fourth grade teacher at the Wellington School. Prior to Wellington, she taught at the American School in Japan in Tokyo. She has twice taught public sushi making classes for the “Too Many Cooks” event at the Wild Goose Creative in Columbus, Ohio in addition to teaching the craft at several private meals in her home. She is excited to offer this educational twist on the dinner parties she has donated to previous Wellington Arts Premieres.

Your every bid supports the mission and students of The Wellington School.
